♥Taking Care of Silver Hair♥

My hair started off being coarse, jet black, asian hair and now it's at the opposite end of the spectrum. I definitely recommend people starting out with dark hair to get it bleached by a professional the first time so you at least get an idea of what your hair can take as far as amount of peroxide and amount of time bleaching. I was one level above pitch black and in 2 bleaches, I was able to lift to a beige color. I wouldn't have been able to do that without a stylist's help and advice. So I guess the first bit of advice I have is that it's worth it to splurge on the first bleaching (o‿∩)

A HUGE thing to note is that my hair looks healthy but bleaching is never good for your hair. The next day after bleaching for the second time it felt pretty dry and dead.........

So next up the actual products I use for putting oil and protein back into my hair as well as toning:

From left to right:

Wella Professionals BRILLIANCE- Treatment for Coarse, Colored Hair

AG Hair Cosmetics Keratin Repair Serum

ISO Hydracondition Conditioner

ISO Hydracleanse Shampoo

KMS California Silk Sheen leave-in Conditioner

BigSexyHair Big Altitude Bodifying Mouse

HealthySexyHair Soy Tri-Wheat leave-in Conditioner

StyleSexyHair Spray Clay Texturizing Spray

The styling products are more just for me to build volume and waves in my hair so that I don't have to use heat to style it. They don't do much repair-wise...

Out of all these products, I'd say that the Wella Treatment and the Soy Tri-Wheat leave-in conditioner have done the most for my hair. It feels strong after one week of treating it and there are no split ends in my hair (^・ω・^ )

Another good thing to know is that I switch out the shampoo and conditioner with a toning shampoo and conditioner, but I actually just finished both and threw them out without taking a picture .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Here's a picture from Google lol:

These products tone the yellow tones out of your blonde hair and make it ashy or silver! But as a warning, they will not work if your blonde isn't light enough. I got these for about $7 each at Target and since I don't shampoo every day, these babies last quite awhile! I use the conditioner every other day and the shampoo maybe once a week. The amount of use you get out of them is different for every person because brassiness in people's hair shows up at different times. If I want my hair to look grey, I'll leave the conditioner on my head for an hour before rinsing and it works nicely! And if you leave it on too long it's no big deal, the purple is very faint and fades super quickly 。(⌒∇⌒。)

So the basic list of bleached/silver hair care is:

-CONDITIONCONDITIONCONDITION

-Save up and have a professional help you bleach your hair if you've never done it before

-Protein/Keratin Treatments will really repair your hair

-Do your best not to use heat on alreayd damaged hair

-Try to go as long as you can without shampooing, it'll help your natural oils come back

-Use a toning (purple) shampoo and conditioner whenever you see the brassiness return to your hair

I hope this helps someone and thanks for reading~!
